Nasinu Secondary school Under 18 rugby team beat Assemblies of God 20-17 this afternoon to become the new Champions of the Southern Division secondary schools rugby.

Nasinu started strong in the first half scoring the first try to winger Inosi Navukula to lead 5-nil.

AOG hit back few minutes later and scored two tries to fly half Anasa Lenikali and prop Meli Kolinisau to lead 12-5. 

In the second half Nasniu and AOG scored a try each with AOG still leading 17-10. 

At the stroke of full time replacement winger Wame Seru scored to tie it 17 all.

A penalty in the sudden death earned Nasinu the victory. 

Manager Eremasi Levu said even though they won in extra time, there is more work to be done.


In the third place playoff of the Under 18 grade, Marist Brothers High beat Suva Grammar school 5-nil.

This means Marist Brothers will qualify for the Deans in the tier one competition while Suva Grammar will have to play in the tier two competition this year.

Meanwhile, Marist Brothers High had a hat trick of victories over Suva Grammar this morning winning the Under 14, 15 and 16 grades.

Marist Under 15 Captain, Simione Matanitobua said it was a job well done for his team.

 
Marist teams beat Suva Grammar 10-5 in the Under 14 grade, 
22 - nil in the Under 15 grade, and 13 - 8 in the Under 16 grade.

In the Under 17 grade, Ratu Sukuna Memorial schools beat Marist Brothers High 19-5.
