The Nasinu Town Council has adopted a hard approach in collecting over $8 million of overdue rates from defaulting ratepayers by publishing names of some ratepayers who haven't paid their rates for over eight years.

Deputy Mayor Dhirendra Sardar said it’s a concern that some rate payers owe more than $6000 to the council. Adding that the council was tired of sending reminder notices to these ratepayers who have shown no interest in paying their rates.
