Vodafone Fiji 7s playmaker Eminoni Nasilasila made a blistering start in the Bayley’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s after scoring four tries to help Tappoo Ratu Filise beat Sigatoka River Safari 22-14 in their first pool match earlier today.
With speed to burn and his cunning footwork, Nasilasila was in top form as he dictated play for the Namatakula based side.
Despite the win, vice-captain Ratu Vio Batibasaga said they will still have to work hard if they are to beat Davetalevu in their second pool match later this afternoon.
Ratu Filise will take on Davetalevu at 3pm today at Lawaqa Park.
Meanwhile, Redrock speedster Jone Qauqau scored two tries as they beat Lomaiviti 19-14 in the first pool match of the day.
In other results, Davui Suva Stallions beat Naviti Resort 14-5, Tokatoka Westfield Dragons under the guidance of former 7s rep Jiuta Takubu and Waisea Nacuqu thrashed Coastal Bulls 31-nil, a star studded Serevi Select side with the likes of Neumi Nanuku, Lepani Nabuliwaqa, Taniela Rawaqa, Nasoni Roko, Sitiveni Waqa, Apisalome Waqatabu and Manueli Laqai lost to Police 14-12 while Jone Vota’s Tabadamu side beat Outrigger on the Lagoon 12-5.
