Judoka Sisilia Nasiga failed to live up to expectation as she bombed out of the Olympics last night.

Nasiga was the only hope for Team Fiji to win a medal after Glen Kable was out.

But she could not do much as her opponents were very strong.

Nasiga lost to Edith Bosch of Netherlands in her opening fight.

She then had a chance to qualify for the bronze medal playoff's but again lost to Algeria's Rachida Ouerdane in her second fight.

Meanwhile, Weightlifter Joe Vueti finished 11th overall in the Men's 77kf, with a 279kg total lift.

He managed 115, 120 and 124kgs in his three lifts in the snatch. Vueti then made 155kg in the clean and jerk, failing two attempts at 162kg.

Team Fiji now have only Carl Probert, Makelesi Bulikiobo and Niko Verekauta remaining to compete in the Games.

Michael Phelps became the greatest Olympian of all time last night winning two gold medals in the space of an hour to lift his career total to an unprecedented 11 on his charge to Olympic immortality.

Phelps passed the halfway point in his drive to be the first person to win eight golds at one Games when he blitzed the 200 metres butterfly final and led the US 4x200 freestyle relay team.

The Champion American has now won five gold medals in Beijing, all of them in world record time, to go with the six he won in Athens. He finished his 200 metres butterfly race in a time of 1 minute 52.03 seconds.

Meanwhile, China maintains their lead on the medal tally. They have now won 17 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze.

USA remains in second place with 10 gold, 8 silver and 11 bronze while South Korea lies in third place with 6 gold, 6 silver and 1 bronze.
