Two hundred and thirty five families of Nasesevia in Nadi will benefit from the supply of electricity and has given people in the area every reason to smile.
Chief Guest at the commissioning, Minister for Works and Energy, Colonel Timoci Natuva said the supply of electricity will encourage more commercial activities to benefit the national economy.
Natuva said the achievement indicated Government's commitments to uplift the living standards of rural dwellers and it should also enable the people to enjoy acceptable standards of living with daily comforts.
Natuva added that Govt is hopeful that those who have left our villages will return and remake their homes in rural places where there is much land which can be utilised.
Meanwhile Project Coordinator Osea Naiqamu said they approached the previous government in the late 90's for electricity and their prayers were answered almost ten years later and they are grateful for Government's assistance.
