Flying Fijians outside centre Sireli Naqelevuki will have to fight for a place in the Western Province team to play in the Currie Cup championship.

Team coach Allister Coetzee said there's no shortcut into the team although Naqelevuki really performed well in the recent IRB Pacific Nations Cup competition.

Coetzee said depending on how well Naqelevuki settles into the Western Province playing pattern, he could force his way into the side at the expense of Gcobani Bobo's midfield partner Dylan des Fountain in upcoming Currie Cup matches.

Coetzee said Naqelevuki could play at No 13 (outside centre) after getting a good report about him from IRB Pacific Development Officer Jake White, that the speedster be used at centre instead of wing.
