Commuters using the Sawani/Serea Highway have been warned that the Naqali Bridge is underwater and has been closed to all traffic.

When contacted by Fijivillage, Police Constable Jovilisi Diboni said that the water level at the Naqali Bridge is still rising and root crops by the riverside have been badly damaged due to the flood waters and villagers have been warned to take extra care.

Diboni added that a few punt owners are helping the public to get across but only with the help of the officers at the Naqali Police Post.

The Kings Highway from Korovou to Rakiraki is still closed to all traffic as the Wailotua and Nayavu bridges are still under water and closed to all traffic.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Isikeli Vuniwaqa said motorists are advised not to attempt to cross these bridges at any time until all clearance is given by the Department of Roads.
