It is only hours to night fall and the village of Namotomoto in Nadi is currently without water and electricity supply.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Namotomoto villager Makereta Bale said they are now bracing themselves for the high tide.
Bale said some villagers have been storing water from the morning while others have stored rain water for drinking and other needs.
