The naming of the new Digicel Fiji 7's team captain is not something important for Coaches Alifereti Dere and Etuate Waqa at the moment.
The team went through its first training session in Dubai six hours ago where the two coaches allowed all the players to talk amongst themselves and work on their weaknesses.
Assistant Coach, Etuate Waqa said that while the new captain is expected to be named today, it is not something which will have a big impact on teams’ performance in the Dubai and South Africa 7's.
Waqa said there is a lot that needs to be done in the upcoming training sessions as players need to adapt to new techniques and style to keep the opponents guessing on Fiji's playing structure.
Fiji's first game is against Argentina at 7:04pm Friday.
At 10.46pm Fiji takes on United Arab Emirates.
On Saturday morning at 4.06am, Fiji takes on Samoa.
