Glasgow Warriors have announced the signing of Fijian international Leone Nakarawa, who will join on a two year deal, subject to a medical.

The lock forward, which can also play in the back row, joins from the Fiji Barbarians rugby club.

25-year-old Nakarawa has 19 caps for Fiji and has represented the country at the 15s and 7s World Cup.

Glasgow Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend said this is excellent news for the club and they have been tracking Leone for a long time.

Townsend said he has played both 15s and 7s for Fiji and is a dynamic and skilful player.

Nakarawa becomes the third Fijian at the Warriors, joining compatriots Jerry Yanuyanutawa and last year’s Player of the Season, Niko Matawalu.
