Fiji and Glasgow Warriors lock Leone Nakarawa is the 2015 Pacific Islands Rugby Player of the Year.
Nakarawa was presented the award by Samoa half‑back Kahn Fotuali’I following the Champions Cup clash between Glasgow Warriors and Northampton Saints.
During the 2015 Rugby World Cup players from Fiji, Samoa and Tonga voted for the Pacific Island Player of the Year.
The players selected Nakarawa as the stand‑out Fijian player, Samoan midfielder Paul Perez was awarded the Samoan Player of the Year award, and Tongan wing Telusa Veainu as the Tongan Player of the Year.
Nakarawa played in all 10 of the Flying Fijians test matches during the year, scoring five tries.
His performance at the Rugby World Cup was considered by many commentators to be one of the players of the tournament.
