Wests Tigers wing Taqele Naiyaravoro has switched codes after signing a new contract with the New South Wales Waratahs this afternoon.

Naiyaravoro said Waratahs coach Michael Cheika approached him last year.

Speaking from Australia to Fijivillage after signing his contract, the former Suva Grammar School student said he did not switch codes for more money.

Naiyaravoro scored 23 tries in 15 New South Wales Cup matches last year and believes that rugby union is not new for him.

He will be joining the Waratahs tomorrow.
