Rising Waratahs star Taqele Naiyaravoro learnt two big lessons in Melbourne on Friday.
He learnt a new rule that you cannot deliberately knock the ball dead in rugby as you can in league and that his actions can cost his teammates a game.
After scoring two tries to help the Waratahs in the first win in this year’s Super Rugby, Naiyaravoro has impressed so greatly in his first full season that he now looks set to shut out the vastly more experienced Peter Betham for the rest of the season.
The Waratahs will be on bye this weekend.
Meanwhile, the Hurricanes and the Stormers currently top the table with 8 points each while the Brumbies trail in third place with 6 points.
In the Super Rugby matches this week, the Highlanders will meet the Reds at 6.35pm Friday while Western Force will meet the Hurricanes at 11.00pm.
On Saturday, the Cheetahs will face the Blues at 5.10am, the Chiefs meet the Crusaders at 6.35pm while the Rebels will clash with the Brumbies at 8.40pm.
On Sunday the Bulls will meet the Sharks at 3.05am while the Lions will face the Stormers at 5.10am.
