Coca Cola Games intermediate 100 metre sprinter, Lepani Naivalu finished 7th at the final of the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore with a time of 10.79 seconds.

Naivalu is the first Fiji athlete to take part in the final of the 100 metres in the Youth Olympic Games and ran a personal best time of 10.7 seconds.

The Suva Grammar student ran according to plan set by Coach Jone Delai and started well from the block, staying with the rest of the athletes for about 30 metres before he started to fall back.

The race was won by Odane Skeen of Jamaica in a time of 10.42 seconds.
