Naitasiri has beaten defending champions Suva 25-23 in the fourth challenge of the Farebrother Sullivan Trophy.

The Highlanders side started strongly with fly half Wisea Luveniyali kicking a penalty with just two minutes into the match. 

But Suva replied with a try to winger Sunia Kubu for the capital city side to take the lead 7-3 after 15 minutes.

Suva could not hold on to the lead for long as Naitasiri's flanker Sireli Kaloucava scored a try in the 24th minute to give them a 8-7 lead.

The Highlanders than kept the pressure on the capital city side forcing Isoa Donaldson to knock the ball on which Naitasiri's outside centre Esala Delai gathering the ball and scoring a converted try to increase their lead to 15-7.

With a few minutes remaining to half time, Naitasiri struck again with a converted try to lock Senivalati Vunibola to further increase their lead to 22-7 while Suva's Wise Luveniyali kicked a late penalty to make it 22-10 at half time.

Suva came out firing in the second half as Dale Tonawai crossed over with a converted try in the 56th minute to close the gap to 22-17 and Emosi Mulevoro kicked a penalty a while later to narrow the gap to 22-20.

Naitasiri and Suva later exchanged penalties to make it 25-23.

Suva was than reduced to 14 men after a high tackle by John Stuwart on Naitasiri fullback Elesio Eremonodo but the shot at goal was unsuccessful.

An incident between Suva's Isoa Donaldson and Naitasiri's Nasoni Roko saw them get 10 minutes each as Suva was further reduced to 13 men while the Naitasiri played with 14 as the Highlanders held on to dethrone the champions.

Naitasiri will now host Nadi in the next challenge.
