Former Fiji Bati captain, Wes Naiqama scored the lone try for Newcastle to beat Jarryd Hayne's Parramatta Eels by 8-6 in their encounter last night.
Naiqama scored the try in the first 27 minutes of the first half.
Both sides were guilty of some poor handling with the Eels in particular coughing up possession at times with alarming ease.
However, Jarryd Hayne, the veteran Parramatta center failed to get downward pressure on the ball and the Knights held on to win to remain in ninth spot on the ladder and hand the club their first win.
