Fiji Bati captain and Newcastle centre Wes Naiqama has been fined an undisclosed sum and reinstated to resume training immediately following a club disciplinary committee meeting.

It was alleged Naiqama threw a plastic cup as he left the King Street Hotel last weekend, striking a female patron, however, police completed an investigation into the allegations on Thursday and will not proceed with any charges.

Newcastle chief executive Steve Burraston said Naiqama was in breach of certain clauses of the Newcastle Knights Code of Conduct and fined an undisclosed sum, and will be required to make a Code of Conduct presentation to all contracted players.

He said they were happy with the meeting and the way Naiqama presented himself and believe the sanctions fit the breach.
