The former President of the Fiji Law Society today appeared before the Independent Legal Services Commission charged with three counts of unsatisfactory conduct.

The Commission heard that Dorsami Naidu was given instructions to inquire into the sale and purchase agreement for 400 acres of land which was executed in 1973.

The Commission was told that the title holder of the land Parawatiammal, had a total 422 acres to her name however, there is a dispute with others who are shareholders that the 22 belongs to them.

Naidu was engaged in 2005 to look into the matter of the 22 acres of land and the Commissioner heard that since 1974 all the 22 acres of land has been transferred to different owners.

Before the legal Services Commission today was Jagat Reddy who is the grandson of Parawatiammal and is one of the shareholders of the 22 acres of land.

He told Justice John Connors that Naidu was handling the case and he was calling Naidu from New Zealand a few times to update him on the matter of the land and in relation to $3200 deposited in a trust account.

Reddy told the commission he came down to Fiji in August, 2008 and also January last year and went to Naidu's office to ask for his money but Naidu claimed the money did not belong to Reddy.

The case continues this afternoon.
