Naidrodro Hockey club of Ba will be competing in the 18th Connect Velocity Marist 11 a side Eastgate Memorial Hockey open tournament after four years.

Naidrodro will be the lone team from Ba and will be competing with top teams from Nadi, Suva and Lautoka.

A record of 17 teams will be taking part this year for both the women and mens division.

Ventures of Suva have been the defending champions for the men, women and junior division for the last three years.

Connect are the official sponsor for this years tournament and company representative Kereni Colawai said they support the development of minor sports in the country and they are trying to have the tournament on livestream.

The tournament was officially launched this morning and it will start this Friday at the National hockey center in Laucala and finals will be played on Sunday.
