Fiji born, Waisake Naholo scored two tries on his comeback for the Highlanders as the defending champions of the Super Rugby defeated the Chiefs 26‑13.

The powerful All Blacks winger, who broke his leg in round one, stormed back into Super Rugby with a decisive display, as the Highlanders punished the Chiefs in front of 23,396 at Stadium Waikato.

Naholo, who turns 25 today says he was blowing hard by halftime and did not reckon he could continue.

But he made a decent fist of foxing every onlooker, as he dotted down twice in the right‑hand corner to breathe life into his side's title defence.

Naholo says he was gone at 60 minutes and was telling the physio that his starting to cramp and started looking to the bench.

He says the coaching staff asked him to play for five more minutes, but that five minutes was long.

Meanwhile, in other Super Rugby matches, the Waratahs' secured a hard‑fought 21‑6 victory over the Cheetahs, the Blues secured their third consecutive victory when they outsmarted the Kings 34‑18 while the Sharks beat the Hurricanes 32-15.
