Highlanders winger and Fijian born Waisake Naholo is refusing to consider the 'what ifs' in the wake of his exciting start to the Super Rugby season.

Naholo has been one of the form wingers but will take up a contract with French club Clermont later this year.

He said his form has come as somewhat of a surprise even to him.

Naholo said he knew he was giving up a shot at higher honours by leaving.

He said he knew there would be things he was going to regret if he left but it would be the same if he stayed.

Waisake Naholo is second equal in clean breaks and third in defenders beaten this season.

The Highlanders play the Hurricanes at 6.35pm in Dunedin tomorrow.
