Villages in the Province of Nadroga and Navosa are tackling the marijuana trade themselves by setting up a taskforce to stop the cultivation in the highlands.

This was confirmed by the Assistant Roko Rusiate Raidaveta after their council meeting last week.

He said Tikina representatives have promised the Commissioner Western and the Police that they will see that each village has its own taskforce.

This is after the Provincial reps were informed that most of the marijuana confiscated by Police were from the highlands of Navosa and that the issue has been put in the spotlight for the past 20 years, unfortunately no solutions has been identified.
