The Nadroga rugby team successfully defended the first challenge for the Fare Brother Trophy from neighbours Navosa in what was a thrilling showdown at Lawaqa Park.
The stallions with the inclusion of majority of the FMF Flying Fijians players won the double-header clash by 41 points to 8.
Speaking to Legend FM sports Nadroga coach Joji Rinakama said that the Navosa team really upset their game plan and gave them a good run for their money.
Rinakama added that despite a wide point margin between the two teams his boys' know what to expect in the upcoming challenges.
In other Sanyo Cup matches yesterday, Lautoka defeated Tailevu 25 points to 24, Nadi beat Naitasiri 26-10, Namosi outclassed Vatukoula by 11 points to 3 while Tavua recorded a victory over Ovalau by 13 points to nil and Suva defeated Northland by 20 points to 7.
