The road link between Nadi and Lautoka is now closed to all traffic due to rising flood waters.
Nadi Police confirm there are about 6 feet of water in Nadi town the Hospital Road and the Nadi bus stand. The Nadi back road is also under flood waters and closed to all traffic.
People have been told not to enter Nadi town and not to cross the main street as the two rivers near the town have burst their banks and flood waters have entered the town area.
Heavy rain continues as flood waters and expected to rise further.
Our reporter in Nadi Gulsher Ali confirms that people from Namotomoto and Narewa in Nadi are currently being evacuated to Nadi College and flood waters have started to enter a number of shops in Nadi town.
