The Nadi soccer team has won the Vodafone Fiji Fact title and $15,000 prize money after beating Suva 3-0 in penalty shoot-out at Ratu Cakobau Park.
Both teams were locked at nil-all till fulltime which forced the winner to be decided on penalty shoot-out.
Nadi goalkeeper Vereti Dickson turned out to be the hero after he stopped two penalty kicks.
Dickson saved Pita Rabo and Waisake Navunigasau’s kicks while Madhwan Gounder’s kick sailed over the cross bar.
Nadi captain Napolioni Qasevakatini went up first to take the kick and made no mistake to put Nadi up by 1-0 while Antonio Tuivuna and Matiasi Toma made sure Nadi takes the title home by making it 3-0.
Extremely emotional Nadi soccer coach Joseph Nand told Fijivillage that this was the first win in his coaching career.
Nadi last won the Fiji Fact title in 2014 when they defeated Suva 1-0 in the same venue as this is their fourth Fiji Fact win.
