The Nadi soccer team surprised all and defeated favourites Lautoka 2-1 to book a semifinal spot in the Vodafone Fiji Fact at Prince Charles Park.

The hosts did not dishearten their fans and proved everyone wrong since they needed a win to qualify for the semifinal while the Blues just needed a draw.

The Jetsetters opened the account just in the second minute of play through goal scoring sensation Rusiate Matararega.

The hosts extended their lead through Lekima Gonerau from Uraia Loki cross to make it 2-0.

The Blues pulled one back through super-sub Jone Vono Junior as they gave it all to find the equalizer but solid defense and great goalkeeping by experienced Ben Amino kept the scores at 2-1.

The games will begin at 1.00pm with Lami taking on T/Naitasiri in the premiere division and at 3pm Rakiraki will take on Nasinu.

The first super-premiere semifinal will kick off at 5pm between giants Ba and Fortech Rewa followed by the second semifinal between hosts Nadi and defending champions Suva.

You could catch the live commentaries of both the semifinals on our sister radio station Radio Sargam.

The final will be played at 3pm tomorrow.
