A Nadi man is in police custody for allegedly assaulting a female enumerator who was trying to approach the suspect to register him as part of the National census.
Nadi police confirm that the enumerator was pulling into the suspects’ driveway in her car along with her boyfriend when she accidentally slightly bumped the house owner.
The 35 year old owner became furious and after an argument with the victim's boyfriend, he allegedly assaulted the woman.
Police confirm that they expect to lay charges soon.
