They last tasted a win in the BSP Farebrother Sullivan trophy at Lawaqa Park 27 years ago and the Nadi 15s rugby team will be hoping for a repeat of that performance against Nadroga this Saturday.

In 1983 under the same scenario, Nadi was the last challenger when they defeated Nadroga 12-9 to snatch the Farebrother from the Stallions on their home turf.

They tried in 1996 and 1997 but were denied by the Nadroga team which had the current coaching staff of Esala Nauga, Jonetani Waqa and Ifereimi Tawake in their line-up.

But the difference in 1983 compared to this year is that the Nadroga team just had four challenges from Rewa, Lautoka and Suva before Nadi took the Farebrother away.

This current Nadroga team has gone past 6 challenges and on Saturday will be their 9th game in a row since the Digicel semifinal in the second week of August.

The Nadroga and Nadi last BSP Farebrother Sullivan trophy challenge kicks-off at 3pm this Saturday and you can catch a live commentary on our sister station Viti FM.
