Nadi dominates karate competition
After a full day of competition, the Nadi karate team claimed victory, winning 6 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze and adding the first medals for the Nadi district on the Fiji Games medal tally.
Suva came a close second with 4 medals each in gold, silver and bronze, while Lautoka finished third with 2 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze medals.
The completion of the karate competition puts Nadi, Suva and Lautoka on the Fiji Games medal tally.
Meanwhile, in hockey, the Nausori women and Suva women’s team drew nil-all while Suva won their second game beating Levuka 4-0 yesterday.
In the men’s, Suva beat Rotuma 2-0 while Lami edged Nausori 3-2.
Looking at some games in the men’s beach volleyball, Nadi beat Nasinu 21-14 and Lautoka 21-18, Labasa beat Tavua 21-13 and Taveuni 21-14, Navua beat Nausori 21-11 and Lami 21-13.
In the women’s, Lautoka beat Navua 21-11, Nasinu beat Lami 21-11 while Nadi beat Vunidawa 21-15.
