A weather system that is developing near Solomon Islands is expected to bring in heavy rain and strong winds from Tuesday into the Fiji Group.
Nadi Weather Office Principal Meteorologist, Misaele Funaki said the Tropical Disturbance which is currently 1300km North West of Fiji is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 to 36 hours however at this stage it does not pose a direct threat to the country.
The Weather Office is currently monitoring the weather system.
