Nadi police are investigating the cause of a fire which partially destroyed a temple at Narewa Road at around three o'clock this morning.
Police have confirmed the Kendrit Shiri Sanatan Dharam Shiv Mandir, which is almost 97 years old, belonged to the Nadi Primary School.
Police crime officer Nadi Inspector Shanti Lal has confirmed some holy books, idols and pictures of Hindu gods have been destroyed.
A team of detectives are investigating the cause of the fire and are closely working with fire officers.
