The Nadi Rugby Union will have their case called before the Lautoka High Court tomorrow in relation to the ruling made by the FRU Independent Games Tribunal last week.

Nadi Rugby President Meli Tora said the judge could not grant them a court order to stop the Digicel Cup semifinal last week because there was not enough time.

Nadi is unhappy with the FRU’s decision to award three points to Vatukoula which resulted in Nadi dropping from the top of the table to third place.

Suva will host Nadi at the ANZ Stadium this Friday at 7:30pm in the second Digicel Cup semifinal and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station VITI FM.

Meanwhile, the Tailevu Rugby Union today filed supplementary affidavits before High Court Judge, Justice Corea in relation to their application, where they served FRU the court papers to try to stop the Digicel Cup semi final between Nadroga and Namosi.

Tailevu Rugby Uion lawyer, Naomi Raikaci said she has filed affidavits and the other parties now have to respond.

FRU lawyer Gavin O’Driscoll said Tailevu did not follow procedures and there were errors on legal principles.

Namosi Rugby Union also has to look for a lawyer by the 28th of this month.

FRU went ahead with Nadroga vs Namosi semifinal last Saturday.
