Dredging work on the mouth of the Nadi River is currently underway, and the Nadi Mayor said this will help the jet set town counter the problem of flooding.

Timoci Koroiqica said since the town is always prone to flooding, and they are grateful to the interim government for taking into consideration their plea for the continuation of the dredging of the river.

Koroiqica said dredging works cost around $3 million which he is hoping will continue into 2009.
