Nadi Police are currently questioning the driver of the bus that developed mechanical problems this morning endangering the lives of more than forty school children and injuring eleven.
Police Spokesperson, Atunaisa Sokomuri said questioning will continue this afternoon while LTA Officers are conducting checks on the Nadi General bus which was involved in the accident.
Sokomuri said eleven school children sustained injuries when the bus veered off the road and landed in a sugar cane field. He said the students have been treated and sent home.
The bus was on its normal trip from Nadi to Lautoka to drop school students when it developed mechanical problems.
The driver lost control and as a result the bus went off the road and into a sugar cane field.
