Committee members of the Kendrit Shiri Sanatan Dharam Shiv Mandir in Narewa, Nadi, are now helping Nadi police to locate some youths who allegedly set fire in the Mandir yesterday morning.
Nadi police have confirmed these youths also allegedly broke into the Nadi Primary School canteen two weeks ago and stole cash.
A committee member of the Hindu temple, Hemant Sanjivi, said the youths had also assaulted the caretaker of the school before walking away with the canteen's takings.
Divisional Fire Officer Western John Pillay had confirmed earlier that initial investigations prove the temple was broken-into before the fire.
According to Pillay, more than 80 percent of the temple has burnt down.
