Deputy Nadi Mayor Timoci Koroiqica confirms that mayor Salesh Mudliar is expected to jet into the country from New Zealand later this week to answer to the allegations leveled against him.
Koroiqica said he contacted Mudliar to ask for his resignation last week and he was told that he would return this week.
He said if Mudliar fails to return this week then the Interim Local Government Minister Jone Navakamocea will terminate him as he had indicated last week.
Mudliar went for a Commonwealth Local Government Conference in New Zealand in March this year and failed to return to the country.
