The Nadi Fire Station is now fully equipped for swift water rescue during floods after it received $38,000 worth of equipment from JICA today.

The Divisional Fire Officer West, John Pillay said that fire officers from the West and South today completed a two day Swift Water Rescue and Fire Drill Course at the Denarau River taught by Japanese trainers.

Meanwhile, the Nadi Fire Station Officer in Charge, Nabi Buksh said that the officers will now be able to go to any flooded area and help the people after the course.
