Watching Jone Daunivucu lift the Melrose Cup in 2005 really motivated the Nacula Eagles rugby side as they prepare for their first ever outing in the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s - The Road To Moscow.

The side is made up of hotel workers and school leavers from Nacula, Yasawa and is coached by former national 7s rep Timoci Vuniyayawa.

Vuniyayawa who represented Fiji in the first world sevens series season from 1999 and 2000 said Daunivucu’s achievement is also a motivating factor for his side.

Vuniyayawa added they are in a tough pool.

Nacula Eagles is pooled with Marika Vunibaka’s Lomaiviti Barbarians, Nawaka and Cakaudrove Warriors.

The Marist 7s kicks off at 8am tomorrow at the ANZ Stadium.
