Digicel Fiji 7s rep Mitieli Nacagilevu has been ruled out from all levels of rugby for at least six weeks after sustaining a serious neck injury yesterday playing for the Digicel Fiji Barbarians against Army in the final of the Marist 7s in Suva.

This has been confirmed by Fiji Rugby Union this afternoon.

After being stabilized at the ground Nacagilevu was taken to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva where it was revealed that he had dislocated a vertebra in his neck.

The Nadroga fullback currently remains in hospital where doctors will be re-evaluating his position each week.

Nacagilevu had been in the running for a position in the Digicel Fiji 7s team to Hong Kong after ruling himself out of selection for the Wellington and Las Vegas 7s last month citing fatigue.

Players who have been picked in the Digicel Fiji 7's squad include Apisai Nayabo, Jimilai Naikadawa, Timoci Vakadranu, Setefano Cakau, Lepani Botia, Nemani Nagusa and Waisea Nayacalevu in the forwards.

While the backline players consists of Joji Ragamate, Ilai Tinai, Sikeli Vuruna, Joeli Lutumailagi, Mitieli Nacagilevu, Avinisi Vasinubu, Nikola Matawalu, Metuisela Talebula and Simeli Tagea.

The twelve member National 7's team for the Hong Kong and Japan sevens leg will be announced on Tuesday.
