120 students of Nabala Junior Secondary School located on the outskirts of Seaqaqa will now be able to carry out research work and access information from their own library after assistance from the New Zealand High Commission.

The High Commission donated more than $3,000 worth of fiction and nonfiction books for the school library.

School Principal, Jacqueline Low said due to limited funds, the school could not afford updated editions of reading and reference materials and the students faced difficulties in accessing information and carrying out research work.

She also said most of the students come from low income families and farming background and with the school charging minimum fees, there was not enough funds to spare for resources like library books.

The New Zealand High Commission Trade Commissioner Peter Lund officially handed the books to the school during his visit to Vanua Levu.
