England and New Zealand 7s team still maintain their lead on the IRB points table with 80 points each.

Both teams bowed out of the cup semi-finals of the USA 7s tournament.

Fiji and Samoa are tied third with 64 points, while USA 7s winners, South Africa now has 56 points.

Meanwhile, South Africa won their first rugby sevens title in two years beating Fiji 24 14 in the final of the USA 7s tournament yesterday.

Fiji beat New Zealand 26-7 in the semi finals to advance to the final.

The South African’s dominated possession throughout the final with play-maker Cecil Africa turning on a commanding performance.

South Africa coach, Paul Treu said the win will give his side some much needed self confidence.
