It has been 12 years since the Digicel Fiji Sevens Team lifted the trophy at the Dubai Rugby Sevens, but this year defending champion New Zealand are tipping them as one of the strong contenders for the title.

Coach Gordon Tietjens expects Fiji to bounce back strongly this season and while many people might see New Zealand as the team to beat, he thinks the sleeping giant is Fiji this year in Dubai.

He added that Fiji was not at the Commonwealth Games, but they will go quietly about their business and added that since Fiji plays sevens week in and week out, winning is a possibility.
