NZ rejects Netballer’s visa
The Lautoka based player was selected in the final 12 member team but it is understood that she has not been given the visa to travel to New Zealand. Seru is likely to be replaced by Suva defender Lusiana Robanakadavu, who was a last minute inclusion.
Netball Fiji officials are tight-lipped on the issue and team manager Asenaca Waqanivavalagi said they have no comment to make as they are just concentrating on the championship.
Seru is with the side at the Nadi International Airport at the moment and will have to wait and see whether she boards the plane.
It is believed that her visa has been rejected because her husband is in the Fiji Military Forces.
Meanwhile speaking to Village sports from the Nadi Airport, coach Vilimaina Davu said the girls are in high spirit and ready for the World Netball Championship.
The Fiji team flies out at 9am and their opening pool match will be against Singapore on Sunday at 3:10pm.
