The prospects of three teams from either New Zealand or South Africa making the Super Rugby's six team playoffs looks good.

The Blues remain in second place and with bye points to bank for this week, the prospects of reaching the playoffs look bright with the Crusaders while the Highlanders have a favorable run in.

South Africa's charge is on with the Stormers, Bulls and Sharks all in the running and a string of local derbies in coming weeks will determine their position.

The only Australian side in the running is points leaders the Queensland Reds.

On Friday at 7.35pm, Hurricanes will host Western Force.
