Defending IRB 7's series champion New Zealand has picked the Digicel Fiji 7's team as their main threat in this weekend’s opening leg of the IRB 7's in Dubai.
Coach Gordon Tietjens said the Fiji side under the leadership of the greatest player in 7's rugby, Waisale Serevi will want to dethrone New Zealand by winning the Dubai 7's.
Tietjens believes Serevi has the experience that will be an added bonus to Fiji's preparation in trying to win their first IRB 7's tournament since 2007.
New Zealand is in Pool A in the Dubai 7's with Wales, Zimbabwe and Australia. Barring any upsets it is likely the Kiwis will meet Fiji in the semi-final.
Fiji is in Pool D with USA, England and Portugal. The Waisale Serevi coached side opening pool game on Friday at 7.42pm against USA.
