The New Zealand Government has condemned the President's decision.
Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully called the move by Ratu Josefa Iloilo to disband the Court of Appeal after their unfavourable decision "a serious step backward" although he did not commit to doing anything about it.
McCully said he has little doubt the President's decision was prompted by Military leader Commodore Frank Bainimarama.
