New Zealand has been Fiji's nemesis in the Dubai 7's for some years now preventing us from winning the title in the United Arab Emirates.

The last time we beat New Zealand in Dubai was in the 1998 Cup final.

Since then, New Zealand has defeated Fiji in the 2000, 2001 and 2007 Cup finals in the Dubai 7's, stopping Fiji from winning the Cup title under the IRB 7's series which started in 1999.

This year's draw will see Fiji take on New Zealand in the Cup final if both teams top their Pools and make it to the Cup final.

Fiji will open its Dubai 7's campaign against Spain at 6.50pm this Friday and will meet Scotland at 10.36pm.

Fiji's last pool match will be against Kenya at 3.58am on Saturday.
