The New Zealand government has echoed the same sentiments as the Australian and the US governments that it will not support Fiji in regards to the People's Charter Process.

The New Zealand High Commission in Fiji said it does not support the charter process as the matter addressed in the draft People's Charter can only be pursued by an elected parliament or government.

The US Government had also said yesterday that it will not be involved in the Draft People's Charter Process as they do not believe that elections should be tied to the People's Charter Process while the Australian High Commissioner to Fiji, James Batley confirmed that no assistance will be forthcoming from the Australian Government with regards to the consultations on the Draft People's Charter.

These comments come after the NCBBF's Head of the Technical Support Secretariat John Samy said yesterday that they hope the overseas donor countries now come on board to assist in the process.
