It is most unfortunate that the New Zealand Government has expanded its travel bans to innocent family members of people who have boldly stepped forward to assist in building a truly united and better Fiji.

These are the words of Deputy Secretary for the Department of Information, Major Neumi Leweni in response to New Zealand's rejection of visa to three Fiji citizens.

The New Zealand government rejected Jone Nailogo's visa who is a member of Fiji Soccer for the Under 20 team and his father is a member of the military. The New Zealand government also rejected the visa for the son of the President's Secretary Rupeni Nacewa and the daughter of Ministry of Health's Permanent Secretary Dr Lepani Waqatakirewa.

Major Leweni said the NZ government is unfairly punishing these innocent Fiji citizens who are not involved in any way in Fiji's political affairs.
