All Blacks 7s player Sherwin Stowers said they are currently under no pressure ahead of the Gold Coast 7s tournament this weekend.

Stowers said with New Zealand being the reigning World 7s series and defending champions of the 7s World Cup they are more focused as this is a new series.


Stowers said they are also lucky that they have not changed their coach as Sir Gordan Tietjens is one of the best coaches ever in 7s rugby.

The Gold Coast 7s which kicks off at 12.30pm Saturday and New Zealand is in pool A with USA, Kenya and Tonga.  

Meanwhile, Fiji's first pool match is against Canada at 1.58pm Saturday. 

Fiji's second match is against Portugal at 5.14pm and the last pool match will be against Wales at 9.24pm.

The Cup quarterfinals start at 1.58pm on Sunday, Cup semis kicks off at 5.58pm and the Cup final will be played at 9.04pm.
